Race For The Cure | September 25
Back in July, some of our team took to Golden Gate Park for a six mile walk to raise money and awareness by participating in the AIDS Walk. We were so inspired after that, we decided that we should do more events like this, and really make an effort to make a difference. We have a larger group (which is continually growing) doing the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure on Sunday September 25 along the Embarcadero in San Francisco.
Would you help us reach our goal of $2500 for the team, and also, if we meet that goal, I personally will be making a separate donation to Tika Hicks, whose story brought me to tears, and I thought this was a great opportunity to bring her some assistance in this horrible time.
If you would like to join us and be a walker (or fundraiser without walking) on our team, you can join here
If you would like to donate to our cause (even $5 is going to go a long way!), you can do that here
We appreciate your support, and really hope we can meet our goal!
Much love,
Kathryn
Featured on Wedding Chicks
We have been holding this wedding back from sharing on our blog, since we got word that is was being picked up to be featured on Wedding Chicks. We are so happy to now be able to share the post and soon, we will post our complete real wedding feature, as this wedding extravaganza was truly one to be remembered!
I worked with Alia & Josh mainly on their wedding celebration, which was on a Friday at her family's vacation home in Calistoga. There were many other events surrounding the wedding that started on Thursday and went through Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. This is the post from their ceremony at City Hall, which was also featured on Wedding Chicks. All photos by the fabulous Andrew Weeks.
Her Claire Pettibone dress was absolutely stunning, and you will soon see Alia and her lovely dress featured on "Say Yes to the Dress" in the fall. We will share the link when it comes out.
Enjoy the feature, and we'll share more with you soon!
Cheers,
Brittani

It can be hard to throw a shower in the middle of high wedding season, but I wanted to do something for my sister to show her how special she is. She is also planning my bridal shower, so I needed to make sure I didn't disappoint!
We picked a date, and that it would be a lunch. I then decided on doing a picnic theme, and scoured all the rental books at the studio, and found the most adorable little pine picnic benches and red checkered napkins, so I knew I could run with it. I was working with a limited budget and time, but I found a lot of what I would need online, and started making things on my own as well.
My sister took the photos below that I am sharing of the set-up. I purchased glass bottle Coke's at our local market weeks prior, and since I don't drink that much soda, I had to really turn it on to get as many as I would need for my floral arrangements. My first idea was to put down green astro-turf on the patio, but in the end, the cost and labor was too high, so I purchased little strips for the centerpieces instead. The mini picnic baskets from Beau-coup were not only holding the guests favors, but also a part of the centerpiece. I picked up Gerber daises that morning, and mixed up the colors on each picnic table. I used all the rental items from Hartmann Studios for the place settings and the picnic tables, and I loved the red checkered napkins.
The guests and my sister had a great time, I hope you enjoy the photos!

We have another busy wedding weekend! When I first looked at the 2010 calendar last year, I didn't initially pick August 13th to be our busiest weekend of the year, but somehow, it turned into being one!
I am attending a wedding today, yes, another Friday wedding at the Julia Morgan Ballroom, while the girls are all running rehearsals for tomorrow's weddings:
Brittani will be up in Calistoga at the lovely Mayacamas Ranch with Elise as her assistant. We hope it isn't going to be too hot up there for them, but we always come prepared with tons of water for all the vendors. We don't want anyone going down!
Adrianna will be at the 12 Oaks Estate, which is a gorgeous private home in Palo Alto, right near the Four Seasons Hotel. I will be her assistant (I sometimes step in when we have a packed weekend like this one), and Shannon will be working her last wedding of her summer internship with us.
Michelle will at the Lyford House in Tiburon, working with Vanessa as her assistant. The Lyford House is a small little place on the water and is so adorable. We can't wait to see the photos!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
Kathryn
